Final Conference SME-city project

Bologna (ITA), December 5th 2014/5 dicembre 2014

The project focused on field research carried out in the historical centre of Perugia, the parks of Valladolid and the London suburb of Hackney, 3 completely different contexts affected by phenomena of drinking, drugs consumption and antisocial behaviour during leisure times. Observation results made partners change the scope of the project during its development. The observation was therefore enlarged to include the communities interested by those conflicts in the use of public spaces, leaving drinking and antisocial issues in the background.

The Italian Forum for Urban Security, together with the European Forum, is partner of this project and responsible for the dissemination.

The Final Conference, organized in conjunction with EFUS, will not only provide an opportunity to present and discuss the project results but also to share experiences between cities that worked intensely on this topic and with experts with different background who will discuss results and specific aspects with some of the people involved in the “SME-City” project.

On Sunday 28th September Share My City UK are organising Something Different in Gillett Square; this “Strani Eventi” will be running all afternoon with an extensive lineup of theatre groups, musicians, activities and participatory workshops.

The lineup includes performances from:

Alitrec
…

as well as a circus skills and acrobatics workshop run by the Mimbre Company

Other activities will include: food preparation and sharing and children’s activities and workshops…

Something Different Festival Programme

Make sure to get along to the event on Sunday 28th September.

Arcola Research and Share My City UK will be in Gillett Square this Sunday 14th September and, amongst other things, will running some Alcohol Free Cocktail mixing workshops with renowned Mixologist Esther Medina Cuesta (LiquidEMC). Be sure to drop by and visit us and pick up a programme for our own “Strani Eventi” (Something Different) Festival to be held on Sunday September 28th.

Something Different Festival Programme

Share my City Project UK will be running a series of workshops over the next two weeks (20-28 January). These will be followed by a combined Open Space Event  to be held in February.

The individual consultation events will take place from 13:00h to 17:00h and will include lunch.

The events taking place will be run in Hackney with different groups:

Monday 20th – at Arcola Theatre, 24 Ashwin St, London E8 3DL – with Institutions

Tuesday 21st – at the Mangal 1 Ocakbasi Restaurant, 10 Arcola St, London E8 2DJ – with businesses

Monday 28th or Tuesday 29th (to be confirmed) –  at Hackney venue (to be confirmed) – with community actors and young people

The second partners project meeting is taking place in Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu i Nauk o Zdrowiu Łódź, Poland on 15 and 16 October 2013. It is hosted by the Polish partners from The University of Business and Health Sciences, Łódź and is attended by partners from Italy, Spain and UK.
